VCIR 2010 – CradlePoint
CradlePoint, Inc. is the leader in providing safe, secure and efficient Internet connections utilizing the rapidly emerging high speed mobile broadband networks. As an early entrant to the market for secure 3G/4G broadband routers and related software, the company has shipped over 250,000 devices since 2007 and has over one million users of its products, including major companies, business travelers, remote office workers, small business owners, homeowners, and recreational vehicle and auto users. The company is growing rapidly with 2009 revenues in excess of $22M, and is profitable. Expected revenues in 2010, assuming full funding, are expected to exceed $34M.
Our products are sold through cellular carriers, distributors, value-added resellers, and major online and traditional retailers. CradlePoint is exploiting its proprietary WiPipe software technology (over 20 patents pending), versatile platforms and unique market leadership to extend its focus on the needs of small to medium business users. In addition, the company’s deep understanding of all the major mobile carriers, their networks and business needs, and its market leading position in antenna design, carrier certifications and supporting multiple modems provide CradlePoint significant competitive advantage.
Our business is built on the belief that business and consumers are entering an era of “hyper-connectivity” and that 4G will drive new business models and services for both businesses and consumers. Emerging 4G networks being deployed today (based on Carriers’ investments in excess of $10B in the last 2 years in LTE and WiMAX) will provide reliable, ubiquitous connection speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s, that are targeted at supporting business critical applications such as unified communication with VoIP, video conferencing and collaboration, financial services, and other data intensive applications. Cradlepoint has drafted a 3-year strategy to leverage our existing competitive advantage and exploit the 4G paradigm shift to accelerate our growth and market leadership. Our strategy therefore will focus on addressing the challenges borne by the convergence of wireless enterprises and 4G cellular networks and enabling business continuity for our customers. We have defined that paradigm shift and market as “Mobile to Enterprise (M2E)” and we intend to extend our current market leadership in serving this market. This rapidly emerging market (M2E) is forecasted to grow to over $1B by 2012, driven by SoHo and enterprise demand and supported by the Carriers’ service models.
